Who reads journal entries anyways?
Well, who cares. I'm on a stint now, so that's all there is to it.
I read a magazine today, the name of which I can't quite remember; despite all the swears and gross information I still found it interesting. Now, if only I could remember the name. Then I felt troubled, as I have been lately. I realized that I wouldn't want to turn into a crazed maniac; I don't want to be the alcoholic; I couldn't stand to be the druggie (or drug dealer); nor can I be a depressing person.
Magazines today contain mostly garbage. I realized that I've been filling my head with trash. I'm not one to entertain morbid fantasies. So I began to read Galatians. Attempt number two.
I'm on a WOT sabbatical because I obsess too much over Myrddraal. There, I said it. Point and laugh, please. It's my own fascination with the abomination. One part of the horcrux in this heart of darkness.
Wait. This is not Harry Potter anymore . . . And it's not Captain Kurtz . . .
Or is it spelled Kurts?
What am I going on about?
Perhaps if I read people's journals more often, I'd know a little bit more about them.
But aside from that--The Eye of the World is a good thing to look into. A friend recommended it to me for so many times before I picked it up, and I've now read all the books in the series (whereas, so she says, she stopped reading). And I remember a store of details. Oh my goodness. I didn't even read all the books in order.
I read from 1-5 in order. I'll put that down. Then I got my books mixed up. It wasn't that hard.
I never thought of it before, but the Eye of the World follows LOTR in a way, before Jordan cleaves away from the mold to make something else. There are many things in common, when one doesn't go into detail.
Myrddraal are like Ringwraiths (and I even obsessed over those for a time). They both wear black; they ride horses; they scare the hell out of people; and they work for the dark one. But Myrddraal were never made by the Creator. They're halfmen; I like to see it as half man and half animal--a cruel curse due to their genetic heritage. They have no eyes, and can walk in shadows. Their cloaks do not move in the wind. And they're cruel rapists who eat humans when they feel like it. And they LOVE the ladies!
Egad! They're humanoid Trollocs! Whereas Narg is smart, these beasts are smarter!
They're creepers. It makes me wonder how a horse can stand them . . .
Fantasy/fiction is not reality for a very good reason. Thank you God.
And with that, I take a small, sweeping bow. Adieu!
